Barnardo's Axis Lanarkshire Core Young Parents Service

Barnardo's Axis Lanarkshire Core Young Parents Service takes a group work approach to support young parents impacted by substance use to build confidence in both themselves and their parenting ability. Working in close contact with other services, we will promote the Solihull approach and encourage young parents to consider their past experiences and relate this to their current situation. Young people will be encouraged to explore their own relationship with substance use (when appropriate). The aim of the service is to promote self esteem and resilience, and enhanced coping and parenting skills which will enable parents to promote positive emotional and physical development in their own children.
